The barbel is a tremendously sporting species, and anyone who has fished for it has seen just how powerful and hard-fighting it is.
Fly anglers will come to it for its technical knowledge. Barbel anglers, for its knowledge of the fish. All of them thanks to this book by Carlos González del Rey.
Barbos en la Pesca a Mosca is a pioneering work, the first ever devoted exclusively to fly fishing for barbel, an essential book in the library of any modern fly angler with an appetite for open fishing without barriers. Reading this ground-breaking text will help you get to know the barbel and the techniques for it in depth, so you can enjoy great success on your days on the water.
This discipline is booming today. The barbel is earning its place on its own merits: great power, size and abundance, an obviously fly-friendly species that is also very active on the surface. It is therefore a discipline shaping up as the alternative of the future for many anglers used to heavy line. We are sure that if this species lived in some faraway country it would instantly become our dream fishing trip, but fortunately it swims in our own waters,
so let us enjoy fishing for it!
