LPX Tactical combines nothing less than cutting-edge technology with a new definition of cutting-edge rod actions for trout fishing.
Tactical has a distinct, very accurate action that unwinds progressively as you load the rod further and further.
Tactical has a distinct, very accurate action that unwinds progressively as you load the rod further and further.
The action is what we like to describe as fast ¾ deep, with excellent stability that suits fly casters of every level. Casting at shorter range, the tip and mid section give you plenty of that important sensitivity you need; at medium and longer range, the lower parts of the rod engage and give you all the connection, power and stability you dreamed of.
These rods are nothing short of exceptional: super smooth, yet stiff, and they master all the different types of cast you like to make while protecting the finest tippets as you play your trophy trout.
Ultra-light in the hand and in real weight: the 9 ft #5 wt weighs just 70 grams!
9' ROD MODELS
The 9 ft rods are super-light fly rods for those who prefer this classic length, with the advantage of a genuinely light feel for the recommended line weight. Incredibly versatile and less affected by the wind, they have a faster action than the 9'9" rods.
The rods in the #2-#3 range at 9 ft are true dry fly and nymph rods for the most delicate fishing with the finest tippets.
The #4 and #5 rods are the number 1 rods for every kind of dry fly and nymph fishing on every kind of water. Their properties are equally good for short and long-range fishing with all types of cast.
The #6 line rod is for those heading into more wind-exposed areas who want a rod that handles streamers well too.
The #7 wt is there to punch out those bulky articulated streamers on heavy sinking lines.
9'9" ROD MODELS
The 9'9" rods are our new take on a cutting-edge all-round rod for dry fly, nymph, Euro-nymph and lighter streamer fishing. Thanks to the advanced blank technology, the 9'9" rods are extremely easy to use. They have a very low swing weight for their length and weight, they are crisp and modern, and they can shape tight, accurate loops. The extra length gives you more reach over the water and better contact and control through the drift. Compared with the 9 ft rods, these let you control the height of your cast better, clearing bushes and high banks behind you. They also give you more time for aerial mends and curve casts during the presentation phase. When fishing from a float tube or wading deep, the 9'9" rods give you extra height during the cast.
The 9'9" #2 and #3 models are crisp, accurate tools for delicate work with dry flies and light nymphs, with balanced tip sections to cushion the finest tippets.
The #4 and #5 line rods are super versatile and equally at home on rivers, lakes or lochs. While they are a perfect match for dries and nymphs, they also perform excellently with lake flies or smaller streamers.

DETAILS
Advanced C.A.P M4.0 blank construction technology.
Flex varies with the rod model and line weight. Generally, a medium/fast flex with well-balanced power can be both a superb casting rod and a precise fishing rod, with the delicacy needed for stealthy presentations and effective fish fighting on fine tippets alike.
Matt-coated blank for stealthy fishing with no sun flash.
The grips are built from high-density Super Grade cork with very little filler.
Reel seats with premium wood inserts engraved with the "Tactical" logo.
The metal parts are hard anodised with a matt finish to avoid throwing flashes of sunlight. The custom-designed locking nuts and sliding hoods contribute to the rods' extremely low weight.
Titanium stripping guides with zirconia inserts. The single-foot guides and tip rings are PVD coated with a semi-matt gunsmoke finish.
Delivered with recycled polyester cloth bags in a tough polypropylene tube that also has a recycled polyester cloth cover.
C.A.P M4.0 technology
C.A.P M4.0™ delivers spectacular performance with impeccable recovery and unique accuracy. C.A.P technology features a complex axial pattern (CAP) combined with unidirectional carbon fibre layers. In CAP, the carbon fibre layers are laid at different angles to one another to maximise strength and stability in every direction. In a unidirectional non-woven carbon blank, all the fibres run in a single parallel direction, which guarantees maximum strength along its length. M4.0™ is the resin we use in this type of blank construction. The properties of this resin fill the gaps in the carbon cloth more effectively than normal resins and it has greater strength. It also reduces the overall amount of resin needed in the blank construction, resulting in rods that are lighter than ever
